Group membership
Group members may be, for example, carers groups, local voluntary organisations or community groups.
Corporate membership
We welcome applications for corporate membership from bodies such as national voluntary organisations, statutory organisations, professional organisations and private sector or commercial organisations.
By becoming a Group or Corporate member you:
- become part of Scotland’s leading dementia charity and demonstrate support for our aims and work
- receive our quarterly magazine Dementia in Scotland and our annual report free of charge
- receive reductions in training courses and conference fees. We provide specialist training (e.g. understanding dementia, managing challenging behaviour, communications skills) for staff working with people with dementia and for carers; a wide range of training in counselling, loss and bereavement, support and supervision and management.
- strengthen our campaigning voice for better rights for people with dementia and their carers
- may become active members of a branch, train to become Dementia Helpline volunteers, help with fundraising activities or volunteer in a day centre
- are consulted on important policy issues and can offer your expertise and skills to one of our standing committees
- are entitled to send a representative to vote at our Annual General Meeting and stand for election to Council, our governing body which sets the policies that determine the direction of the charity
