Dementia Helpline Appeal ... Your Support Speaks for Itself ...
Whatever life has thrown at you over the years, your telephone has heard it all – the good news of a family wedding, the sad news of a loss; from words of support to words of wisdom, it’s always been there connecting you to friends and loved ones, especially in those times when you feel the need to be close.
For the past 100 years the telephone has been at our sides giving us the security that we never feel alone - and today our 24 Hour Dementia Helpline is no exception. Our freephone Dementia Helpline has provided information and emotional support to people with dementia and their carers for more than 20 years. With over 82,000 people in Scotland with dementia and numbers set to rise, it's more vital now than ever before that we continue this service.
Staffed by highly trained volunteers and supported by a staff team at Alzheimer Scotland, our Helpline provides information on many issues for anyone concerned about dementia. We receive over 100 calls a week and as you can see from the feedback opposite, the words of thanks speak for themselves.
