Payroll giving

Payroll giving is a donation to the charity of your choice, direct from your salary. You decide how much you want to give and your employer deducts this amount from your pay. Not all employers operate a payroll giving scheme so you will need to check that you are able to donate in this way. The advantages are that it is tax-free - every £1 you give actually costs you only 78p, and the tax man pays the remaining 22p. So if you give £10 a month, it will only cost you £7.80. This is because your employer deducts your donation before calculating your tax. Click here to print out the payroll giving registration form
