Rock and Roll Edinburgh Half Marathon 2012
Sunday 15 April 2012
Join Edinburgh's most exciting new sports event and raise funds for Alzheimer Scotland!
The largest race series in the United States is coming to Edinburgh! The former ADT Edinburgh Half Marathon will transform into the UK’s first Rock 'n' Roll Edinburgh Half Marathon in 2012, adding live bands to the course and a post race concert.
The Rock n' Roll Edinburgh Half Marathon promises to be an amazing, fun day combining exercise with rock music. Scottish band the Red Hot Chilli Pipers will be at the start line.
Being mainly flat, the Edinburgh Half Marathon is a fast race with good opportunity for a personal best time. It starts in Meadowbank Stadium, and from there the route takes runners away from the centre of Edinburgh towards the coast at Portobello before heading southwards to the finish line at Musselburgh Racecourse. Spiced up with live music along every mile, the whole thing will then culminate in a post-race rock concert.
There are 2 ways you can run for Alzheimer Scotland in the Rock n' Roll Edinburgh Half Marathon :
- Apply for an Alzheimer Scotland charity place
Entry fee: £20
Minimum fundraising pledge: £300
You can join our team for the 2012 race by getting in touch with us at events@alzscot.org or phoning 0845 260 0789 and we will send you out a registration form. - Use your own place
If you have your own place you still can be part of the Alzheimer Scotland team by using that place to run for Alzheimer Scotland. You will receive a full fundraising running pack from us and gain access to all of the same benefits as a charity place runner. Important: By signing up as an own place runner we will not provide a place in the event. You must have already received your place and paid for your registration directly to the event organisers.
We’ll support you the whole way and we’ll be there on the day to cheer you over the finish line!
