Vietnam to Cambodia Cycle Challenge
23 February – 5 March 2008
Cycling for Alzheimer Scotland
Enjoy beautiful rural landscapes, ancient ruins and Buddhist temples. Experience the warmth and hospitality of the local people on this 500km cycle challenge finishing at the famous Angkor Wat.
Our challenge will take you from Ho Chi Min City (formerly Saigon), Vietnam’s biggest city, through the Mekong delta into Cambodia. En route visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, which provided sanctuary for the Vietcong during the Vietnam War.
You will cycle through the heart of rural Mekong, passing banana plantations, sugar cane and paddy fields. You will cross by motor boat into Cambodia and head to the capital city Phnom Penh. From here you will have the opportunity to visit the infamous killing fields and to learn more about Cambodia’s turbulent history.
To take part in this expedition, all you have to do is pay a registration fee of £299 and raise minimum sponsorship. You will be travelling with like-minded people who are all raising money for dementia charities.
You will travel with experienced guides and support staff, and a doctor will be with the group throughout the trip.
Flights from London, transfers, accommodation and food and lots of ideas for raising the funds will be provided….and of course the experience of a lifetime!
Limited places are available so please call Moira Lawrance,
Fundraising & Events Manager, on 0845 2600 789 or email events@alzscot.org for a full information pack.
