West Highland Way 2010
Alzheimer Scotland is delighted to have teamed up with Scottish company Charity Trek to offer a fully accompanied 6 day walk, covering the West Highland Way.
Spectacular
One of the most spectacular long-distance walks in the UK, the West Highland Way is 152km (95 miles) long.
The walk links Milngavie to Fort William – from the outskirts of Scotland’s largest city (Glasgow) to the foot of its highest mountain, Ben Nevis, following the shores of its largest freshwater loch – the stunningly beautiful Loch Lomond.
Best scenery, in the best season
The walk starts on Saturday May 8 in Milngavie and ends on Thursday May 13 in Fort William so why not join us for a fun week taking in some of the best scenery around in the company of like-minded people. Everything is organised for you, you just have to come along and walk!
Six day route
The route takes six days to complete - the average distance walked per day is 12-14 miles with two longer days of 19.75 miles and 21 miles. There is no climbing but the event is physically demanding, involving approximately eight hours walking per day so you do have to be reasonably fit and properly kitted out. However, this is more than made up for by the tremendous views!
We will provide a suggested kit list, fundraising tips, training plans and a t-shirt to wear on the final day, ready for photos at the end of your challenge.
What's included?

- Accommodation
Accommodation will be in guest houses or hotels of a high standard. - Food
