Information Volunteers Project
Our Information Volunteer Project will use the support of volunteers to provide information and promote awareness of dementia to the general public and those concerned about the condition.
Helping to raise awareness in your own community
The Project covers four local authority areas:
- Glasgow
- East Dunbartonshire
- North Lanarkshire
- South Lanarkshire
Information Volunteers
Information Volunteers can help by:
- distributing our leaflets and other information
- giving talks on dementia to local groups of all kinds
- helping to staff information stands at events.
We will provide you with training, support and back-up to help you speak confidently about dementia to individuals and groups such as rotary clubs, women’s guilds, carers’ groups and schoolchildren.
There is no upper age limit to volunteering with us. All we ask is that you want to know more about dementia and help others to do the same.
By volunteering a few hours a month, you could learn new skills, gain confidence and make new friends.
Information Service
The project is part of Alzheimer Scotland's Information Service which aims to keep people with dementia, their carers and their families and anyone else concerned with dementia, informed through accessible, clearly written information.
We are grateful to Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland for their contribution to the cost of running this project.
