World Alzheimer's Day - 21st September

World Alzheimer's Day 21st September

No time to lose!

World Alzheimer's Day is commemorated every year on 21 September when people from around the world come together to focus on raising awareness and the reality of life with dementia.

The theme for 2008 is, 'No time to lose!' with a focus this year on carers by emphasising and celebrating the contribution they make to society and giving them the recognition they deserve!.

Professor Clive Ballard presented his research on the use of tranquillising medications at Alzheimer Scotland's 8th World Alzheimer's Day Lecture "Use and abuse: sedatives for people with dementia in care homes".
