Alzheimer Scotland is official charity of BUPA Great Run in Edinburgh 2009
Alzheimer Scotland is delighted to have been chosen, along with the Alzheimer's Society, as the official charity for the Bupa Great Run series 2009.
Bupa has sponsored the Bupa Great Run Series for the last 16 years and has recently committed to sponsorship until 2013, making it one of the longest running sports sponsorship deals in the UK. As Bupa’s nominated charity, the Alzheimer’s charities aim to raise £1 million to further fund their services, providing practical services and support for people with dementia and their carers.
Two of the Bupa Great Run take place in Scotland and both are in Edinburgh:
- Great Winter Run 5K - Saturday, 10 January 2009 (Holyrood Park)
- Great Edinburgh Run 10K - Sunday, 3 May 2009 (Edinburgh City Centre)
We're hoping that being the official charity of the Bupa Great Runs in Edinburgh will really boost awareness of dementia and of Alzheimer Scotland.
Rachel Guy, Fundraising and PR Director at Alzheimer Scotland, said, "We’re over the moon to be working with Bupa on their famous Great Run Series. This partnership will make every step count for those who need our help across Scotland."
If you want to make every step count for people with dementia and their carers, then we've got the running tops, sponsor forms, fundraising hints and training tips to help you cover those kilometres.
