RSAMD concert aims to hit the right note for Alzheimer Scotland
The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama will be holding a concert of Scottish music on Tuesday 11th December, to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland. Music starts at 7.30pm in the Guinness Room, with tickets at £7(£5). The concert will feature performances by students and staff of the Scottish Music Department at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. The Head of Scottish Music, Brian McNeill, one of Scotland's most acclaimed musicians and songwriters, will also perform in the concert.
Brian said, "I have seen at first hand, through their care for my mother, the fantastic and dedicated work done by Alzheimer Scotland. I know I am not alone in having loved ones in need of such care. My parents always enjoyed Scottish traditional music and I have great pleasure in hosting this concert".
Moira Lawrance, Events Fundraising Manager at Alzheimer Scotland, said, “This promises to be a wonderful evening of Scottish music and we really appreciate all the time and efforts of those involved in this event. The festive season can be a particularly difficult time for people with dementia and their families, but fundraising such as this helps Alzheimer Scotland to provide invaluable support and respite.”
