OCTOBER 25
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
To: News/Health/Community Editors

Alzheimer Scotland is inviting people with dementia and their carers to attend an information day on Wednesday 22nd November at Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow.
This inaugural event provides the opportunity for people with dementia and their carers to discover more about the illness from the experts, the treatment and care available and what research might bring for the future.

Alzheimer Scotland’s Information Manager Maureen Thom says, “We are encouraging people with dementia and their carers from all over Scotland to come along and find out more about the illness they are living with.”

She continues, “The programme is designed to provide a range of information relevant to people with mild dementia to people who are in the later stages of the illness. Sessions will include advice on managing your memory, benefits, driving and dementia, activities for people with dementia and looking after yourself. Staff and volunteers from our 24 hour dementia helpline will be on hand throughout the day to provide one-to-one information and support.”

To find out more about Alzheimer Scotland’s information day or book a place contact Dorothy Keith on 0131 243 1453 or email dkeith@alzscot.org
