A new initiative, Will-writing Made Easy, launched by Scotland’s leading dementia charity Alzheimer Scotland will make it simpler for Scots to secure the future of their finances.
Every year, thousands of Scots die without having made a Will. As a result their assets may not go to those whom they would wish to benefit. In certain cases everything may go to the state.
Alzheimer Scotland’s Fundraising & PR Director Rachel Guy says, “The process of making a Will can be daunting. Not only do people have to decide what will happen to their finances after they pass away, they also worry about legal and cost implications.
Alzheimer Scotland’s Will-writing Made Easy pack is free and consists of a straight forward series of documents designed to guide people through the process of making or altering their Wills. It enables people to take control of their own assets and secures the financial futures of their loved ones.”
She continues, “We have negotiated very competitive costs for the service which is done by post – a single will costs £70. All Wills are drawn up by an experiences qualified solicitor.”
