There are a number of products available to help people who have problems with their memories. These include:

  • automatic pill dispensers with timers or compartmentalised pill dispensers with labels
  • calendars and diaries
  • "white boards" for writing reminders and messages
  • sticky notes for labelling or writing reminders
  • kitchen timers
  • clocks which display the time and the date

If you are assessed as needing equipment, the NHS or your local authority may be able to supply it. If you would like further information and advice on aids and adaptations, you could also request a visit from a community occupational health therapist. Most local authorities run community alarm schemes, some of which include detectors for smoke, gas, flood and personal safety.
