Induction Training Pack

The Learning Development Unit at Alzheimer Scotland has developed an induction training pack for our own staff which is now available for external care providers:

  • The programme can be delivered by staff from Alzheimer Scotland or the pack can be purchased to be used by external organisations
  • Alzheimer Scotland can also provide training for staff in the use of the pack
  • There is the facility for the pack to be customised for individual organisations
  • All materials are linked to knowledge evidence requirements for SVQs in Health and Social Care.

Aims

  • To provide you with the necessary information, facilities, experience and motivation to assist you to adjust to a new work environment
  • To assist your understanding of the organisation’s objectives and procedures to enable you to work safely and effectively
  • To encourage the development of loyalty, enthusiasm and commitment towards the organisation and its objectives
  • To encourage and develop the necessary skills and understanding of working with people
  • To develop supportive relationships that promote choice and independence
  • To respect the diversity and difference of individuals.

Presentation method

  • The training includes a combination of presentation, discussion, group-work and handouts. Participants will take an active role in identifying needs for discussion
  • There is an accompanying workbook.

We are a Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Approved Centre providing Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ) Awards in Health & Social Care (Adults) levels 2, 3 and 4 and Leadership in Management in Care level 4.
