Dumfries and Galloway Services – Sessional Support Workers

Salary scale: GS1 Points 6 –8, £6.79 - £7.22 per hour
Starting point dependent on qualifications.

We are recruiting sessional support workers to cover for holidays/sickness for the care at home service and for our day care services.

The Sessional Support Worker would provide personal care, assistance with domestic tasks and support to people with dementia living in their own homes. Support workers would be trained to focus on the person and work with them rather than for them. A positive attitude to people with dementia and a willingness to learn and participate in training (including SVQ’s) is essential. Support workers may also be required on occasions to work in one of the day care centres which operate in the area.

Access to a car would be essential for the care at home service posts.

Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.
