Paisley and Glasgow Services
2 part time posts of Involvement/ Inclusion Officers
One post based in Paisley and one in Glasgow

21 Hours per Week (hours negotiable) - Salary: £21861 - £24201 (pro rata)
These posts are temporary for one year though further funding is being sought.
We will be happy to discuss filling the posts on a secondment basis.

"Change happens when those who do not usually speak are heard by those who do not usually listen".

People are now listening and we are looking for a unique individual who can build on our existing involvement/inclusion work. You would work with people with dementia and their carers to support them to directly influence service delivery and planning, raise awareness, challenge stigma and break down barriers preventing active involvement/citizenship.

This post requires an individual who can work confidently with the current social care and health structures to ensure that statutory and independent organisations include the views of people with dementia in their strategic planning of current and future services and improve their understanding of the needs of people with dementia.

A key focus of this post will include fostering partnership approaches to improve post-diagnostic support of people with dementia, support to groups of people with dementia and their carers and encouragement of inclusion in service design and delivery. Working with our Service Managers you should be able to respond to the information and support needs of people early on in their condition, individually and in peer support groups. You will need to be skilled in recognizing people’s strengths, building self confidence and enabling this to flourish in a range of activities that lead to change.

Excellent networking skills as well as a confident approach to working alongside social and health care professionals are essential. This role will include close work with Community Heath Partnerships, representational groups, and social/health care colleagues across a variety of settings.

As a communicator you will need to be imaginative, innovative but also clear and concise – you will also know when to stand back and let others take the lead.
Ability to work on own initiative and a flexible approach will be necessary.
