Christmas Appeal 2007

Alzheimer Scotland : Alan Hansen cuts ribbon to open day care centre, accompanied by Lesley Corr, Anne Gray, Rachel Guy, Margaret Marr and Linda Smith

Earlier this year, Alan Hansen, Scottish football legend and famous TV pundit, opened our new day care centre in Alva, Clackmannanshire, where his father is a service user.

It was due to the generosity of donors in Alva and beyond that we were able to refurbish a bungalow and transform it into the Viewfield Day Care Centre, complete with conservatory and a dementia-friendly garden. We are very grateful to all of them.

With your support we can do even more

In 2007 we successfully campaigned to have dementia declared a priority by the new Scottish Government.

Help us take our work forward in 2008 so that we can:

  • Enable more people and their carers to understand a diagnosis of dementia
  • Develop a greater understanding of dementia amongst the general public in Scotland
  • Continue to enhance the quality of the day care we provide and of our day care premises

Help us rise to the challenge of supporting the increasing numbers of people with dementia in Scotland by responding generously to this Christmas appeal.

Yours sincerely

Jim Jackson
