Alzheimer Scotland is the leading dementia organisation in Scotland.

We campaign for the rights of people with dementia and their families. By choosing to support Alzheimer Scotland, HSBC have committed to helping us to improve the lives of those 90,000 people in Scotland living with dementia, their families and carers. All money raised by HSBC colleagues in Scotland will stay in Scotland and will help us to fund some of our most vital support services: our 24-hour Freephone National Dementia Helpline and our Dementia Advisors.  Money raised in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will go to similar services in those regions.

HSBC have also committed to raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of dementia and how to support someone living with the condition. We hope that throughout our partnership every member of staff at HSBC will become a Dementia Friend.  You can also look out for Tea & Talk sessions in your local branch where staff will be inviting customers and the general public to come in and discuss any concerns that they might have about dementia and signpost them on to our support.

Henry Simmons, Chief Executive at Alzheimer Scotland said:

“We are thrilled to be working with HSBC and our friends at the Alzheimer’s Society for the next three years. HSBC have committed to working with us to raise as much funds as possible for our national services as well as raising vital awareness of dementia and Alzheimer Scotland services.

Together we can make sure that anyone affected by dementia has access to the right information and emotional support whatever time of the day. Through the support of HSBC we can also continue to empower people living with dementia in communities across Scotland to live full and independent lives closer to the ones they love for longer.

I’d like to say a personal thank you to colleagues in HSBC across the UK for choosing to support the work of Alzheimer Scotland and Alzheimer’s Society. I’m confident that through this partnership we can ensure that nobody in Scotland faces dementia alone.”
