Online resources and activities

Our Allied Health Professionals have joined forces with designers from Lab 4 to share resources and activities online for people with dementia, their family members and supporters.

Connecting people, connecting support (www.connectingpeopleconnectingsupport.online) launched this month, April 2020, and is an interactive website where people living with dementia, carers, family and supporters come together to explore ways to live well with dementia.

The new resources will be shared every Tuesday and Friday. The Tuesday resources focus on practical information such as how to maintain a routine and the benefits of using a memory book, with Friday resources focusing on hobbies and interests including music and photos. The resources have all been tried, tested and recommended by people with dementia.

Elaine Hunter, National Allied Health Professions Consultant said: “We were already working with colleagues at Lab4Living to provide group interventions for people at an early stage of their dementia journey, but we recognised that these needed to be available at home and be available to those who cannot currently access a group.

“We hope that the website is useful for our colleagues in supporting people with dementia at home. Please get in touch if you have any activity suggestions or if the resources need posted to people’s homes who cannot access the website.”

Please share the website with your networks and get in touch with Elaine Hunter if you have any activity suggestions.
