The Stirling and Clackmannanshire Branch of Alzheimer Scotland crossed the finish line in their year-long fundraising campaign by raising a mammoth £100,000 to support people living with dementia and their families in their local community.
The team of kind-hearted supporters undertook a busy calendar of fundraising events over the past 12 months to raise money to support a new Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Resource Centre in Alloa. The campaign has been a resounding success with the local community and businesses all providing a flow of generous donations to help fund the new centre.
Debbie Cassidy, a member of the Stirling and Clackmannanshire Branch fundraising group, said: “We are all absolutely over the moon about reaching the fundraising target that we set ourselves just over 12 months ago.
"So many people in the community, businesses and individuals, have helped us along the way and supported us. We didn't think it would be reached as quickly as it has been but it's been a lot of fun with hard work. It's been a fantastic 12 months and it will help so many people in the area going forward.”
Debbie added: “The secret to success was all the fundraisers and their love for the campaign and the fact that dementia has touched all of our lives in some way, shape or form.”
