Following the appropriate guidance from Scottish Government, Public Health, the Care Inspectorate and others, we are delighted to have been able to re-open many of our day care services, including Dundee, Midlothian, Falkirk, Glasgow, Stranraer, Dumfries, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and the Western Isles. Others are still pending following agreements from local commissioners and local Public Health colleagues.
The recent lowering of protection levels has also allowed us to start re-opening our Dementia Resource Centres. In a gradual and safe way, our Centres have been re-opening during Dementia Awareness Week to provide 1:1 support meetings with Dementia Advisors, or welcome people with dementia or carers to join small indoor activity or peer support/carer groups.
Dementia Resource Centres (DRCs) opening up over this week for 1:1 meetings with the local Dementia Advisor include:
- West Lothian DRC, which re-opened on Monday 31st May
- Renfrewshire DRC will re-open today, Tuesday 1 June
- Motherwell and Inverclyde DRCs will re-open on Wednesday 2 June
Dementia Resource Centres (DRCs) opening up over this week for small indoor activity or peer support/carer groups include;
- Inverness and Dundee DRCs will re-open today, Tuesday 1 June
Friday will see the Arbroath DRC re-opening with a blended in person and digital music and memories group.
We will continue to re-open our DRCs over the coming weeks and months, and will update this page with more details as we go forward.
Our local staff teams are very much looking forward to welcoming people back into our Centres.
