Having fundraised for several charities over the years, lately Stephanie Wint has been dazzling customers in Edinburgh with her fab outfits whilst collecting for Alzheimer Scotland. Due to the pandemic Stephanie hasn’t been able to do her famous annual bucket collections so has decided to celebrate her 65th Birthday with an Alzheimer Scotland fundraiser.

Stephanie is asking her friends and family to make a donation in lieu of birthday gifts with the hope of getting past the £5,000 fundraising mark!

It isn’t just friends and family that have been getting behind Stephanie’s fundraising efforts, even customers at the local Sainsburys where Stephanie works have been getting involved.

She said, “Today I got a donation of FIFTY, YES FIFTY POUNDS from a very generous customer who owns a business near my work! He asked me if I like sherry, I said ‘I do but I would prefer donations for this special 65th birthday’. Never in my years of fundraising has anyone been so generous!”

Stephanie holds up her £50 donation. She is wearing her uniform and a mask that says "smile"

A special friend of Alzheimer Scotland, wanted to wish Stephanie a very happy birthday and shared this video message.

Jonathan Mitchell, Lead for Stakeholder Engagement, commented “We have been blown away by Stephanie’s dedication to fundraising over the years and we were delighted to find out that she wanted to celebrate her 65th birthday by fundraising for Alzheimer Scotland. Fundraising in this way is such a special thing to do and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported Stephanie.
