We hope that you, and those close to you, are safe and well during these uncertain times. It may be a really worrying time if you, or a family member, is living with dementia and we want to let you know that we’re still here if you need us.

In response to the restrictions we all now face, we have made significant changes to the support we offer. Our priority is to continue to make sure nobody faces dementia alone, and we are doing so in a number of valuable ways:

  • By boosting the capacity of our 24 hour Freephone Dementia Helpline (you can reach us anytime by phoning 0808 808 3000) providing a lifeline for people to access information, emotional support or have a much-needed chat with someone who cares
  • Through our Dementia Advisors, who remain in touch with the people they support on a regular basis via telephone and video calls
  • By moving many of our groups and activities online, therefore maintaining the support we offer despite not being able to meet face-to-face for now
  • By creating an online hub with podcasts and written resources to help people living with dementia during the pandemic, including information for carers and families and activities to take part in at home.
"Your support, empathy and understanding was amazing. You understand what it's like and what we're dealing with - thank you for caring."

Like the majority of other charities, many of our fundraising events and activities have been cancelled or postponed. We have been humbled by the continued support, dedication and generosity of our supporters, from individuals who have completed virtual events or made donations, to local businesses who have donated products. We know there are a number of causes worthy of your support just now and that many people do not have the means to give. For those of you who are able to, please consider making a donation to help us continue to support people living with dementia and their carers. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated.

As we all adjust to the new norm, this is a time to reach out and support each other. We will keep our website and social media channels updated, so please check back regularly. If you need any support at all, please don’t hesitate to contact our Helpline.
