News Claire takes on Dundee Kiltwalk in memory of her Granddad Claire recently lost her Granddad to Alzheimer’s disease and will be taking part in this year’s Dundee Kiltwalk in his memory. During her Grandad’s illness, Claire’s family received support from the Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Resource Centre in Dundee. Here, Claire tells us about their experience and how she believes that with the right support, people can live well with dementia.
News Imaginative blogger Lois has been nominated for Creative Fundraiser of the Year 2023 Lois Wolffe's mum was struggling with the enforced isolation of lockdown and joined her daughter in a daily creative initiative, the 100 Days Project. Lois's mum was formally diagnosed with dementia in 2021 and never completed the project. Lois took inspiration from her mum's artist background by embroidering her life on a smock to encourage people to talk more openly about dementia. Lois has been nominated for Creative Fundraiser of the year in the 2023 GoCardless JustGiving Awards.

News Michael retraces his Grandad's steps by walking 230 miles from Cardenden to Raphoe Michael's Grandad was diagnosed with vascular dementia 7 years ago and sadly passed away in February of this year. in dedication, Michael retraced his Grandad's steps by walking from Cardenden in Fife to Raphoe in County Donegaal. This was completed over 7 days covering a staggering 230 miles and more than 500,000 steps. Michael explains his inspirational story:
