Community Group Volunteers – Boogie in the Bar - Dundee

We are looking for 4 Community Group Volunteers to support and assist with the Group, including setting-up, preparation of refreshments, meeting & greeting the participants as they arrive and support them with the layout of the venue and facilities then help clear away at the end. You will be required to be on-site from 1.15pm – 4.30pm as the activity will run from 2pm – 4pm on a bi-monthly basis on a Friday afternoon – dates TBC.
Whilst volunteering at Boogie in the Bar you will:
- Assist in encouraging participants to request songs which you will relay to the DJ.
- Help & encourage individuals to access the dancefloor – and dance
- Promote a fun, relaxed party atmosphere
- Make conversation with individuals if they prefer not to dance
- Be outgoing and positive
Due to the venue being in a bar – volunteers are required to be 18 years +
Experience and an insight into Dementia is useful, but not essential as support & training will be provided.Dementia Friends sessions will be provided to all volunteers.
Volunteers can claim travel expenses to/from the venue

The volunteer work I do is really varied; helping out with monthly meetings, interviewing members about their experiences of setting up audio-visual equipment – I’ve even accompanied a member to a European Parliament meeting in Brussels!
