Huge thank you to our dedicated supporter Margaret Harron and her granddaughter Hollie (2 years old) for their latest fundraising event.

Margaret signed up in February to do the Kiltwalk for her dad who was living with dementia.  At the time, she had no idea what lay ahead, her dad sadly passed away in March. This was a devasting time for the family, however it made Margaret more determined than ever to complete the Kiltwalk in her dad’s memory.

Margaret said, “I signed up for the Kiltwalk for my dad in February, not thinking for a minute we would be walking in his memory. Hollie, my 2 year old granddaughter, was walking with me for her beloved Papa. We set up a Just Giving page and set our target at £200. We quickly had to up it to £500 and we passed our goal!

On the day of the Kiltwalk, William, Julie, Hollie and I set off on The Wee Wander it was a lovely day. A bit emotional but we knew Papa was with us every step of the way. We have raised an amazing £1500 for Alzheimer Scotland.

Thanks to everyone who donated to my JustGiving page and to everyone at the Inverclyde Dementia Resource Centre for all the support to Dad and our family over the years”

Thank you, Margaret and Hollie. Your kindness and generosity will help us to make sure nobody in Inverclyde will face dementia alone. You can support their fundraising efforts here
