Ask a physiotherapist - online advice

You can ask a physiotherapist for advice about:

  • staying as active and independent as possible
  • Physical activity
  • Maintaining strength and balance
  • Reducing risk of falls
  • Musculoskeletal problems such as back or knee pain.

“Ask a physiotherapist” online session is with a physiotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). The physiotherapist will be able to offer you practical advice and signposting to resources for people living with dementia, their families and supporters.

“Ask a physiotherapist” online session provided by Alzheimer Scotland aims to make sure that nobody faces dementia alone but is not a substitute for statutory health and social care services provision.

You can log in to the online session and a physiotherapist will be with you as soon as possible to help.

You just need internet access, Google Chrome and a laptop, smartphone or tablet.

This will enter you into a Tech Surgeries Waiting Area and from here a member of our Tech Team will invite you onto a video call with the physiotherapist. If the Tech Team are on another call, they will call you as soon as they are finished.

If you are not able to get on to the online session, if you still have questions or just need to talk to someone you can contact our 24 hour Freephone Dementia Helpline on 0808 808 3000.  The Helpline can also arrange for the physiotherapist to call you back at a convenient time.
