Fundraising Promise

We strive to foster a genuine relationship with our supporters and to create a sense of family within the wider Alzheimer Scotland community. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who places their trust in us, and so our Fundraising Promise is our commitment to you.

We Promise:

To commit to high standards

We adhere to the Fundraising Code of Practice and support anyone who fundraises or volunteers on our behalf to do the same. We’re registered with OSCR, Scotland’s Charity Regulator, and have made a public commitment to Scotland’s Good Fundraising Guarantee.

To be clear, honest and open

We will always tell the truth and never exaggerate. We’re transparent about how your gift is used and clear about who we are and what we do. Our Annual Review highlights the work we’ve delivered with your support, and our Privacy Policy explains how we protect and use your personal data.

To be respectful

We respect your rights and your privacy. If you tell us you don’t want to be contacted in a certain way, we will always honour your preferences.

We’ll never pressure you to make a gift or treat our supporters as an object to extract money. We express our gratitude and demonstrate the difference your support has made without ever making an initial secondary ask.

To be fair and reasonable

We treat all our supporters with fairness and consideration. We’re mindful of the language we use, taking care not to cause anxiety or distress when we’re campaigning for support.

We strive to seek unrestricted support, enabling gifts to go where they’re needed most, but we respect a donor’s wishes to support a specific project or area.

To be accountable and responsible

We’re responsible with our resources and always consider the impact of our fundraising on our donors, supporters, the wider public and the environment.

Complaints procedure

If you’re ever unhappy with anything we’ve done whilst fundraising, we’ll guide you through our complaints procedure and provide clear and evidence-based reasons for our decisions. If you’re not satisfised with our response, you can take the matter further by contacting the Scottish Fundraising Adjudication Panel.
