Peer support

Peer supportPeople with dementia, and people supporting or caring for someone with dementia, often say that the best decision they made was to meet other people living with the same condition.

No-one can support someone with a diagnosis quite like other people with the same diagnosis, and the same goes for carers.

There are many opportunities for peer support. Dementia cafés are open to everyone, and couples or families often go along together. In many areas there are groups or activities that are specifically for people with dementia, and others that are for carers.
