Volunteer driver

Our Volunteer Drivers help us to make it possible for people living with dementia to attend planned activities and support groups in their local area.

Many people living with dementia no longer drive and some can have difficulty using public transport, volunteer drivers are vital helping us to keep people involved in their local communities.

This role will help us to provide accessible, safe transport that will enable people living with dementia to attend local groups and activities. The role may vary but is likely to include: assisting people to/from their homes and transporting them to community venues and actively listening to and communicating with people living with dementia.

What skills are required for this role?

This role is available to people over the age of 21 who has access to a vehicle, a valid driving licence with 3 points or less, fully comprehensive insurance and an MOT (if applicable). Volunteers must be willing to commit regular time to this role and have great communication and interpersonal skills.

As with all volunteering roles, there will be training where required and ongoing support from our Volunteer team. Full job descriptions will be available upon application.
