SafeConnect FAQs

  • When can I expect my fob to arrive?

We have had a very high demand for SafeConnect packs and currently have a two-week response time. We are pleased to have so much interest in them but it will take us a bit of time to work through all of the requests.

  • What is NFC?

Near Field Communication (NFC) is a technology that enables communication between some electronic devices over a very short distance of approximately 4cm or less. Most modern smartphones have NFC capabilities. Most iPhones have NFC enabled. Many Android phones need to have NFC enabled by the user in the settings. This will differ for different models. Some older smartphones do not have NFC capability. If you are unsure, please contact your phone manufacturer for more information.

  • Does SafeConnect use GPS?

SafeConnect fobs are not global positioning system (GPS) trackers and cannot tell you where the person is. SafeConnect holds secure emergency contact details and can be scanned with a smartphone using Near Field Communication (NFC) to help quickly reunite someone with their family or carers.

  • Does the person need a dementia diagnosis to get a SafeConnect fob?

Not at all – no formal diagnosis is needed.
