Alzheimer Scotland’s Brain Tissue Bank
The Scottish Dementia Brain Tissue Bank is managed by the Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Research Centre.
Much of our current understanding of Alzheimer’s disease, and other types of dementia, is a result of studying brain tissue generously donated by individuals.
Brain tissue donation is vital to finding better treatments for the diseases that cause dementia, such as Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer Scotland’s Brain Tissue Bank is able to accept donations of brain tissue from people diagnosed with dementia, to assist research now and in the future.
Our Helpline team can also help explain the process if you are considering donating your brain to dementia research. Call 0808 808 3000 or email helpline@alzscot.org
