Scottish Dementia Research Consortium
We’re here for all dementia research in Scotland
What is the Scottish Dementia Research Consortium (SDRC)?
Hosted by Alzheimer Scotland, the Scottish Dementia Research Consortium is an inclusive community of researchers, healthcare professionals, people living with dementia and anyone else with an interest in research. Our purpose is to celebrate and support all dementia research taking place across the country.
About the SDRC
Scotland’s dementia researchers produce work that is high-quality and high-impact. But we also understand the challenges and barriers in research. The SDRC’s mission is to address these challenges to make dementia and brain health research in Scotland even stronger. We do this by:
- Celebrating and promoting the work of researchers that is already taking place to a wider audience. This includes other researchers, policy makers, funding bodies and the public.
- Nurturing and supporting research activity by fostering collaboration, providing professional development opportunities, and helping members build relationships with stakeholders and each other.
Become a member
The SDRC is open to everyone who is taking part in or interested in dementia and brain health research in Scotland. Anyone from anywhere is free to join the SDRC, whether you are a researcher in Scotland or not.
There are many benefits to being an SDRC member. These include:
- Invitations to attend members only events to discuss dementia research
- Linking and networking with other members
- Opportunities to showcase your research or current work projects
- Gain career advice from world leading dementia research experts
When you join the SDRC, you will receive updates on SDRC activity, our monthly newsletter and exclusive or early access to SDRC events. You will also be able to communicate with other SDRC members to promote your research and will be invited to write blogs or articles for the SDRC and X.
In the application we ask you which SDRC Theme (s) are of most interest to you. This is so we can tailor our communications to the types of research you find most relevant.
