Give in memory

Honour your loved ones by leaving a gift in their memory.

Giving in memory

Every year, hundreds of our wonderful supporters pay tribute to a loved one through donations in their memory: by asking for gifts in lieu of flowers, holding a collection, sending personal gifts or contributing to their special Forget-me-not Fund.

Helping others in this way is such a meaningful and positive action to take in honour of someone close to your heart.

Thanks to this very thoughtful support, we can reach out to more people than ever who need our help, enabling us to care today and give hope for the future. As the leading dementia charity in Scotland, we will continue working hard on your behalf to campaign for the rights of people with dementia, and their families, and provide as much direct support as we can through our range of innovative and personalised services.

Funeral collections

Asking friends and family to contribute to a funeral collection in lieu of flowers is a positive thing to do at a sensitive time, and we are here for you, if you would like to pay tribute to the life of your loved one by supporting Alzheimer Scotland. We can send you practical information, including one of our collection boxes.

Gifts in memory can be submitted to Alzheimer Scotland, in person, over the phone, by post, or online.

Forget-Me-Not Funds

Many of our supporters also decide to start up a Forget-Me-Not Fund with their loved one’s funeral collection. This is another positive step to take, and a very personal decision that you and your family may want to discuss together.

At a time that’s right for you, you may decide to set up a Fund in the name of someone special. We will only do this when you ask us to. After you have contacted us with your details and the name of the person you’re remembering, we’ll set up your personalised fund and let you know the total of all gifts we receive in tribute to your loved one.

At any time in the future, if you, your family and friends go on to support Alzheimer Scotland in other ways, we’ll gather together all of your fundraising in your special Fund. Family and friends may choose to remember your loved one by making gifts on special occasions. There are so many ways you can help us, and the choice of when and how you support us is entirely up to you. As your Fund grows, we’ll let you know the positive differences you’ll be making to change the lives of others.
