About our Centre
Lauriston Castle, and these wonderful grounds, offer a magnificent backdrop for this innovative new Centre. This is Scotland’s second dedicated Outdoor Brain Health & Dementia Resource Centre, uniting nature-based activity with brain health.
Lauriston Lodge has been significantly upgraded and reconfigured and follows the principles of dementia friendly design. With access to the adjacent memory garden, beautifully restored by The Forget-Me-Not Trust, you can enjoy an inspiring and calm space with the Lodge and the (recently added) Summer House providing sanctuary from the Scottish weather.
The following support is on offer:
• information and advice
• activities for people with dementia and carers
• peer support groups for people with dementia and carers.
Our Centre also offers support for anyone interested in finding out about brain health and risk reduction. Our trained staff can work with people of all ages to understand more about the factors that contribute to brain health and to build a personalised brain health plan.
