Carers’ bereavement support

Grieving the loss of a loved one is one of the most emotional experiences we will have in our lifetime. Everyone experiences grief in a different way.

Grieving and loss

Although grief is extremely painful, it is a normal response to loss and is your way of helping yourself heal. We have information and resources available to support you during this difficult time.

Our 24 hour Freephone Dementia Helpline provides information, signposting and emotional support, everyday of the year.

Our network of Dementia Advisors support people with dementia, their partners, families and carers.

You, Me & Grief

You, Me & Grief is a six session programme of support for carers who have recently lost a loved one with dementia. It offers support and professional advice alongside peer support and community connections. This course has been developed alongside bereaved carers with lived experience and will be delivered in an intimate online group or in person.

The topics include: coping with grief, practical support, adapting to change, and the importance of self-care. Short taster sessions of some activities will also be included.
