What is a Young Dementia Friend?

Dementia Friends Scotland is about educating and empowering people from every age group to come together to support people with dementia.

With over 90 000 people living with dementia in Scotland, it is likely that young people will be affected by dementia at some point in their lives. We deliver Dementia Friends sessions to schools and youth groups across the country so young people can turn their understanding into action, become a dementia-friendly generation and make Scotland a more dementia-friendly place to live.

Our Dementia Friends sessions for young people are hands-on and interactive. Participants will receive a badge and certificate upon completion, showing that they have become a Dementia Friend. They can also commit to a simple action they will take to make a difference to people with dementia.
